Qantas Unveils New Direct Flights to Auckland from Melbourne

In a move that is expected to boost tourism and trade between Australia and New Zealand, Qantas has announced the launch of new direct flights from Melbourne to Auckland. The airline will operate three return services per week, using its Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The new route is set to commence on November 1, 2026, and will offer passengers a faster and more convenient travel option between the two cities.

The new flights are expected to have a significant impact on the economy, with Qantas forecasting a 10% increase in passenger numbers and a 15% increase in cargo capacity. This is good news for New Zealand businesses, which will benefit from increased access to the Australian market. The new route also marks an important milestone for Qantas, which has been expanding its international network in recent years.

The announcement has been welcomed by local tourism operators, who are hoping to capitalize on the increased demand for travel between Australia and New Zealand. “This is a fantastic development for the region,” said a spokesperson for Auckland Airport. “We’re looking forward to working with Qantas to promote the new route and attract more visitors to our city.”
