Ayushman Bharat Yojana: Bharat Ka Arogya Sahayak

As we celebrate the 7th anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Yojana, one of India’s most ambitious healthcare initiatives, the numbers are a testament to its success. Launched on 23.09.2019, Ayushman Bharat aims to provide health insurance coverage to over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families, covering approximately 50 crore individuals. Since its inception, the scheme has seen a significant increase in the number of beneficiaries, with over 3 crore hospital admissions and 70 lakh surgeries performed under the program.

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been instrumental in reducing the financial burden on families who cannot afford medical treatment. With a coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per family per year, the scheme has helped thousands of people access quality healthcare services. The government has also taken steps to improve the scheme’s outreach and accessibility, with the introduction of a mobile app and a web portal to facilitate online registration and claims processing.

As the scheme continues to grow, the government is planning to expand its scope to include more services and benefits. The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, launched in 2020, aims to create a digital health ecosystem that enables secure sharing of health records and seamless access to healthcare services. With its focus on universal health coverage and digital transformation, Ayushman Bharat Yojana is set to revolutionize the way healthcare is delivered in India.
