Weather Woes: Severe Storms to Hit South Africa

A severe weather warning has been issued by the South African Weather Service for the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, and Western Cape, effective from 25.07.2026. The warning is in place due to the forecast of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and thunderstorms that are expected to hit the region. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

The South African Weather Service has predicted that the severe weather conditions will be caused by a low-pressure system that is expected to develop over the southern coastal areas. The system is expected to bring heavy rainfall, with totals reaching up to 100mm in some areas. The strong winds will also lead to reduced visibility and make travel conditions hazardous. Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid any non-essential travel during this time.

The South African government has activated its disaster management teams to monitor the situation and provide assistance to affected areas. Emergency services are also on high alert and are prepared to respond to any emergencies that may arise. Residents are advised to stay informed through local news and weather reports and to follow the instructions of local authorities.
